In partnership with New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF), CineCina is excited to announce the full lineup of “CineCina Selections” in NYAFF’s 20th-Anniversary Edition at Lincoln Center and Asia Society. From July 15 to July 31, this section will showcase must-see independent and commercial releases from mainland China.
The inaugural CineCina Selections will include six features and one short: Li Gen’s breezily watchable semi-autobiographical drama Before Next Spring; Zhang Ji’s riveting romantic dark thriller Fire on the Plain; Geng Jun’s deadpan dramedy Manchurian Tiger; Niu Xiaoyu’s often surreal Virgin Blue; Wei Shujun’s po-faced mockumentary about filmmaking, Ripples of Life; Jigme Trinley’s lean yet woozy thriller debut One and Four; and Tang Yi’s satirical Palme d’Or-winning short, All the Crows in the World.
